The Aegean's free and easy spirit carries into Izmir's sports halls. Table tennis clubs woven into Alsancak's cafe culture, Karsiyaka's youth centers and the open-air tables along the shore have nurtured the city's love of ping pong for years. The individual tournament on the weekend of September 19-20, 2026 brings this joyful yet ambitious game culture into the competitive atmosphere of an indoor hall. In the second half of September, the warm breeze off the gulf gives players a second wind after tiring rallies.
The tournament is played individually; every athlete puts their own speed and reflexes on the table. It opens with a Swiss-system group stage, so everyone plays multiple matches with balanced pairings. Players who emerge from the groups advance to a single-elimination bracket. Sets are played to 11 points; group matches are best-of-5 (first to 3), while elimination and final matches are decided over best-of-7 (first to 4). All matches follow official ITTF rules, with service rules, net height, timeouts and racket inspection applied under referee supervision.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced categories let every player enjoy a fair contest at their own level. Anyone aged 16 and over who lives in Izmir or is visiting for the weekend may apply. If you enjoy answering fast balls, love your footwork, and keep your focus with an easy attitude, this tournament has a place for you.
Registration is completed through Sporara's secure payment system; places are limited, so early sign-up is an advantage. The fee includes hall use, official match balls and refereeing. At the closing ceremony after two days, the top three in each category win trophies and medals, while the day's most sportsmanlike player receives a special plaque. To bring Izmir's relaxed yet passionate energy to your racket and rack up points in the dynamic gulf city, reserve your spot on Sporara today. On September 19-20, the Aegean's tables await you.
Teams consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 players. ID details and a health report are required for each player. The registration fee is charged per team and is non-refundable for incomplete teams.
