What does this tour offer?

Located in the relatively untouched southern part of the Red Sea, the Sudanese coast offers an exploratory route for experienced divers with its pristine reefs that have remained far from commercial tourism. Due to limited accessibility, the region is primarily explored via liveaboard boats and is notable for its dense fish population. The region's relatively isolated nature is particularly valuable for those seeking a pristine diving experience away from the crowds. Since most of the coastline remains free from commercial diving tourism, the reefs have largely preserved their natural texture.

Diving Sites and Underwater Life

Sanganeb Reef, with its lighthouse rising in the middle of the sea and surrounding steep walls, is a spot where schools of hammerhead sharks can be observed. The Umbria Wreck is a frequent destination for history-enthusiast divers with its cargo dating back to the Second World War. The Angarosh and Shaab Rumi regions are known for their dense coral cover fed by strong currents and for being a transit route for large pelagic species. Open ocean shark species can also be encountered in the region from time to time.

Tour Scope and Accommodation

The tour includes connecting flight tickets from Turkey, port transfers, liveaboard boat accommodation, all diving organizations, guidance, and basic equipment including tanks and weights. All meals and water service are provided as standard on the boat. The port city of Port Sudan is the entry and exit point of the route.

Certification, Season, and Documents

Due to the region's strong currents and open sea conditions, an Advanced Open Water certification and previous drift diving experience are recommended. The best season is between May and October when the seas are calm. Turkish citizens are required to apply for a visa in advance to enter Sudan; it is highly recommended that passports have a validity of more than six months and that travel documents are completed in advance. Due to the remote location of the route, participants are also advised to obtain their own diving insurance. It is recommended to plan the trip by taking into account the limited communication opportunities during the liveaboard duration.
