Located on the Atlantic coast near Lisbon, Ericeira is known as Europe's first World Surfing Reserve, famous for its high-quality point and reef breaks concentrated within a short distance. With its consistent swell patterns and spots suitable for various skill levels, the region is a classic destination for surf tours. The small town center, with its cobblestone streets and cafes overlooking the sea, adds a special charm to surf breaks. Thanks to its proximity to Lisbon, the tour can easily be combined with short city trips.
Ribeira d'Ilhas is a world-class spot that hosts international competitions with its long right-hand point break and consistent wave structure. While Coxos appeals to advanced surfers with its powerful and fast waves, the sandy beach of Foz do Lizandro offers shallow and gentle waves ideal for beginners. The bays facing different directions in the region ensure that there is always a surfable spot regardless of the wind direction. Praia de São Lourenço also provides an additional alternative for intermediate surfers.
The package includes round-trip flight tickets from Turkey to Lisbon, road transfers, accommodation, daily surf lessons or guided sessions, and essential equipment including boards and wetsuits. Breakfast is included in the accommodation, and water is provided during surf sessions. The program is directed daily to the most suitable spot based on wave forecasts.
While Foz do Lizandro is suitable for beginners, Coxos and Ribeira d'Ilhas require intermediate-to-advanced experience. Autumn and winter months (September-March) bring larger and more powerful swells, while summer months offer smaller waves suitable for lessons; this makes the region suitable for surfing all year round. Portugal is within the Schengen area; it is recommended that Turkish citizens travel with a valid Schengen visa and check their passport validity. Since Atlantic waters are cool, the use of a wetsuit is standard practice throughout the year.
