What does this tour offer?

Flowing through the Köprülü Canyon National Park in Antalya, the Köprüçay River is one of the first routes that comes to mind when rafting in Turkey. The clear waters flowing between steep rocky walls offer a different view at every bend of the canyon; historical traces such as the ancient Roman bridge and the ancient city of Selge can also be seen along the course. Generally at a grade 2-3 level, the flow provides a balance of difficulty suitable for both beginners and families. This natural corridor within the national park boundaries is surrounded by pine forests and red pine slopes.

What's Included in the Tour

The tour includes transfer from your hotel or designated meeting point to the canyon entrance, full equipment including life jackets, helmets, and paddles, and safety training accompanied by experienced guides. Groups proceed in 6-8 person rafts along the average 12-14 kilometer course; at the end of the tour, a meal break is usually taken by the river, and those who wish can find the opportunity to cool off in the cold waters of the canyon. In some programs, rope crossings at fixed points in the canyon or short walking breaks are also added to the tour flow.

Safety and Suitability

Thanks to the moderate flow speed of Köprülü Canyon, the tour is structured so that families and participants without rafting experience can easily join; children aged 7 and over can generally join the course accompanied by their parents. Guides provide continuous guidance throughout the flow by implementing safety instructions in each boat, give additional warnings during rocky passages, and readjust the boat's route when necessary.

Season

Fed by snowmelt and rainfall, the flow rate of the Köprüçay reaches its highest level in the spring; it offers a stronger flow between April and June, and a calmer but refreshing experience in the summer months. Thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate, the season can extend until October, making Köprülü Canyon one of the routes with the longest rafting season of the year.
