Kackar Heliski (Rize) Skiing Tour

The Kaçkar Heliski Tour offers a 2-4 day guided heliski/freeride experience on the untouched peaks of the Kaçkar Mountains, based in Ayder Plateau, Rize. Unlike classic slope skiing, this experience involves descents on pristine natural snow in high-altitude valleys reached by helicopter. With peaks exceeding 3,000 meters, the Kaçkar Mountains are one of Turkey's premier routes for heliski enthusiasts, characterized by deep valleys and dramatic topography; the tour is structured with a priority on safety and professional guidance. The abundant snow accumulated at high altitudes due to the Black Sea's humid climate creates vast and virgin freeride areas.

What's Included

The package covers transportation/transfers to Ayder Plateau, accommodation, helicopter summit drops, freeride guiding, necessary safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, etc.), and specified meals. It is recommended that experienced freeride skiers bring their own ski/snowboard equipment; the guide provides briefings on routes and snow conditions before each descent. The group undergoes avalanche safety and equipment checks before every departure.

Program and Route

The first day begins with settling into Ayder and a safety briefing. In the following days, depending on weather and snow conditions, the helicopter takes you to different peaks for guided freeride descents into the valleys. Each descent takes place in virgin valleys with varying slopes and orientations, making every day unique. The program flow is updated daily, largely depending on weather conditions. Evenings allow time to relax around the thermal springs of Ayder. The tour concludes with a return transfer on the final day.
