The Mount Ağrı Classic Summit Tour is Turkey’s most popular and most-preferred mountaineering activity. Spread over 3-4 days, this tour lets you reach the 5,137-meter summit safely and in a planned way, with proper acclimatisation camps and professional logistical support.

About this tour

The program prepares your body for high altitude with acclimatisation days at the lower camps; then, with the summit climb starting at night, you reach the roof of Turkey at sunrise. All logistics — mule support, camp setup, meals and guiding — are handled by the organization.

This tour is priced per person, including acclimatisation camps and all mountain logistics (camp, meals, mule/porter support, guiding). (The fee may differ in foreign currency for international participants.)

Who is it for?

This tour is suitable for adults who walk regularly and have a good level of fitness. While technical climbing experience is not required for most routes, endurance for long walks and high altitude is needed. The route is managed by the guide according to the participants’ condition.

Equipment and safety

Your safety is our priority: the whole program is run with certified mountain guides and planned according to the group, experience and seasonal conditions. If weather and mountain conditions are unsuitable, the program is postponed to a safe date. First-aid and communication equipment are always with the team.

What to bring?

Before participation, a detailed personal equipment list is sent to you. In general, you need layered clothing suited to the season, sturdy mountain boots, a raincoat, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, a headlamp and personal care items. Technical group equipment (tent, rope, stove, etc.) is provided by the organization.

The package includes a certified mountain guide, acclimatisation and summit camps, mule/porter support, camp setup, the stated meals, technical group equipment and safety gear. Personal equipment is the participant’s own.
