What happens in the 6-hour beginner course?

Then we move to land training. With a small trainer kite, on Gülbahçe's wide coastal flat, you grasp the fundamentals of kite control; you feel how to move the kite within the wind window and how to generate and reduce power. Learning this stage solidly is the key to success on the water. Then, entering the shallows, you learn the body dragging technique, pulling yourself through the water with the kite's pull. As the day goes on, you strap the board to your feet and begin your first riding attempts. At every step the instructor is beside you, and your progress is set by your personal pace.

Who can join?

This experience is tailor-made for those with no prior experience. You do not need to have done kite surfing before; in fact, most of our participants pick up a kite for the very first time. Basic swimming ability, average physical fitness, and an open attitude to learning are enough. Gülbahçe's closeness to İzmir makes it especially accessible for city dwellers; you can easily come on a weekday afternoon or over the weekend. The age range is wide; from teenagers to adults, everyone can begin safely under an instructor's supervision.

Safety and equipment

All equipment is included in the course: the kite, bar, harness, board, and life vest are provided by us. Our instructors are certified professionals who work with small groups so that everyone gets enough time. Before entering the water you will always learn the safety procedures, the quick-release system, and how to protect yourself.
