Located in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, northwest of Antalya, Geyikbayırı is recognized as one of Europe's most significant sport climbing destinations. With its hundreds of meters of vertical and overhanging limestone walls, and over a thousand routes spread across dozens of sectors such as Ekşili, Sarkıt, and Küçük Ekşili, it offers a wide range of options for both beginners and experienced climbers. In this 3-5 day residential camp, participants will engage in a comprehensive program ranging from learning the texture of the rock and belaying techniques to fundamental skills and multi-pitch climbing.
The greatest feature of Geyikbayırı is the ability to find routes suitable for every level in the same area, from easy training walls to advanced overhanging routes. During the camp, participants will first work on balance and footwork on low-angle walls with distinct holds; in the following days, they will progress to more technical routes requiring dynamic movements under the guidance of certified instructors. This gradual progression ensures that beginners continue to develop safely while intermediate climbers acquire new techniques.
Thanks to the mild winters of the Mediterranean climate, Geyikbayırı is suitable for climbing for most of the year; the autumn-winter-spring period is ideal, especially for climbers looking to escape the extreme heat of the summer months. On sunny and windless days, the warming of the rock increases the friction of the holds, positively affecting performance. The camp calendar is planned with this seasonal advantage in mind.
Accommodation is provided at the campsite, and three meals a day are served in the camp kitchen. Technical equipment such as ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and helmets can be rented daily under the supervision of a certified climbing instructor. The program begins each morning with theoretical safety and knot-tying training, followed by practical climbing on the rock in the afternoon; evenings are dedicated to daily reviews and technical feedback. Suitable for beginner and intermediate participants, this camp offers a safe and gradual learning experience. Throughout the camp, group sizes are kept limited to ensure that every participant receives individual feedback and progresses at their own pace.
