The Princes' Islands hold some of the clearest waters in the Marmara. The sheltered coves around Heybeliada and Büyükada, free of motor traffic, offer a surprisingly clean and calm sea. Reached by boat, visibility here is usually better than along the city shore, and the islands' peaceful atmosphere turns your dive into a full escape.

What to expect

The experience begins with a short, pleasant boat ride to the cove, during which your instructor gives the breathing and relaxation briefing. Once there, you settle your breath and make your first breath-hold dives with mask and fins. Gliding down through clear water, you find a silence among light beams and the seabed, always with your instructor beside you.

Who is it for?

This experience suits anyone aged 12 and over who can swim and has never freedived. It is ideal for those wanting open-water experience from a boat. Please tell us in advance if you are prone to seasickness.

Safety

Safety is the top priority in open water. Under the buddy system you are never alone; every dive is under your instructor's direct supervision, with the boat serving as a safe rest and watch platform. Breath-hold times follow your personal limits, never forced.

Best season and conditions

The ideal period is June to September, when the sea is warm, coves are calm and visibility peaks. Sheltered coves of different islands are chosen based on wind for comfort.

Location and access

The Princes' Islands are reached by regular ferries from Kadıköy, Kabataş or Bostancı. From the island, you transfer to the cove by boat. Details follow your booking.
