Saros Korfezi (Edirne) Scuba Diving Camp

The Saros Gulf, located on the coast of Edirne, is recognized as one of Turkey's most biodiverse diving regions, known for the cold and exceptionally clear waters of the Aegean. This 5-6 day residential scuba diving camp offers a program suitable for every participant, from first-time trial divers to certified advanced divers, who wish to explore the vibrant underwater life offered by the gulf's deep and nutrient-rich waters. The wind-exposed nature of Saros requires diving routes to be planned daily, making the camp a new discovery every day.

The Cold and Clear Waters of Saros Gulf

The deep structure of the gulf keeps the water cooler compared to many other Aegean spots, which in turn leads to high visibility and nutrient-rich waters. Colorful sea sponges, gorgonians, nudibranch species, and occasionally encountered large schools of fish make Saros a special spot for underwater photographers. Dives along rocky walls and calm dives on sandy-pebbly bottoms are alternated within the program.

What Awaits You at the Camp?

Accommodation, all meals, training accompanied by PADI or CMAS certified instructors, and the use of tanks and basic equipment are included in the camp fee. While those doing trial dives practice in shallow and sheltered spots, certified participants explore deeper points of the gulf on boat trips. For interested participants, there is an opportunity to take an internationally valid certification exam at the end of the camp.

Safety and Participation Conditions

Due to the cold water of Saros, the use of a diving suit of appropriate thickness is highly recommended, and the instructor team provides guidance on this matter. Before each dive, weather and current conditions are evaluated, a safety briefing is given, and depth-duration tracking is ensured with dive computers. The camp is open to anyone over the age of 12 who can swim and has no health obstacles to diving; the group size is kept within safe limits per instructor.
