Cappadocia (Nevsehir) Trekking Camp

A 4-day hiking camp with accommodation is being organized in the geography of Cappadocia, woven with fairy chimneys, valleys, and underground cities. The routes passing through Pigeon, Red, and Love Valleys around Nevşehir offer the opportunity to explore, step by step, an extraordinary geological landscape shaped by volcanic tuff layers over millions of years. The program is designed for participants with a medium fitness level, consisting of mostly flat and moderately difficult stages of 10-14 kilometers per day. The labyrinthine paths on the valley floors, rock-carved churches, and pigeon houses provide a different sense of discovery at every stage.

Inter-Valley Stage Route

The camp begins with a short warm-up hike through the fairy chimney formations around Göreme. On the second day, the route progresses through the colorful rock layers of Red Valley and Pigeon Valley, while the third day features a cool stage following the riverbank in the deep canyon of Ihlara Valley. The camp concludes on the last day with a shorter route around Uçhisar; the region's unique rock-carved architecture and historical church ruins are included in the itinerary for every stage. Wide-angle views of fairy chimney clusters can be observed from the viewpoints located between valley crossings.

Accommodation and Scope

The package includes guided hiking, a daily stage plan, accommodation (guesthouse/camp), specified meals, and necessary transfers between valleys. The recommended equipment list for participants includes trekking shoes, layered clothing, a hat, and sufficient water-carrying capacity; the temperature difference between day and night in the region should be taken into account. The camp is planned to start in the morning hours when the sun is least intense.

Difficulty and Cultural Fabric

The routes do not involve technical difficulties and are suitable for hikers with medium fitness; there is occasionally rocky and uneven terrain on the valley floors. Regular breaks and water points are planned along the route, which is followed with a guide. Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, underground cities, and the view of hot air balloons filling the sky at sunrise make the camp unique in terms of both nature and culture. The rock-carved churches and pigeon houses encountered along the valley also offer the opportunity to witness the region's thousands of years of settlement history.
