Inonu (Eskisehir) Rock Climbing Camp

Located in the İnönü district of Eskişehir, this climbing area, established on volcanic cliffs near the city center, forms one of the most popular sport climbing routes in Central Anatolia. Its andesite-structured, rough, and distinct-grip rock surfaces offer a wide range of routes where both beginners can take their first steps with confidence and intermediate climbers can improve their technique. In this 3-5 day residential camp, participants stay at the campsite and practice climbing from morning to evening under the guidance of certified instructors.

The Character of Volcanic Rock

Compared to limestone, the andesite rock of İnönü has more friction and more pronounced holds; this feature makes it easier for beginners to learn footwork. The sectors, consisting of short and medium-length walls, provide a suitable ground for teaching top-rope and lowering techniques with single-pitch sport routes. In the camp program, participants progress through routes of varying difficulty levels to set goals suitable for their own level. Thanks to its proximity to the city center, camp logistics are easy, while the natural silence and outdoor environment support focus.

Season in the Central Anatolian Climate

Due to Eskişehir's continental climate, the most suitable period for climbing in İnönü is spring and autumn; during these months, daytime temperatures are ideal for climbing, and the rock surface offers optimum friction. Camp calendars are planned with this seasonal window in mind, ensuring that participants climb in both comfortable weather conditions and the best possible rock conditions.

Program, Equipment, and Safety

Accommodation and daily meals are included at the campsite. Technical equipment such as ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and helmets can be rented on-site. Each day, the program begins with knot and belay theory under the supervision of a certified instructor and continues with practical climbing on the rock. While beginners reinforce basic techniques, intermediate participants improve themselves with more technical routes; a safety-first approach is followed throughout the entire process. At the end of the camp, participants receive an individual assessment of the technical skills they have acquired.
