Gokcetepe (Edirne) Scuba Diving Camp

The Gökçetepe coast of the Saros Gulf, located within the borders of Edirne, forms one of the most impressive diving spots in the gulf with its steep rocky structure and deep-reaching walls. This 5-6 day residential scuba diving camp offers a program for both those looking to try diving and certified divers wanting to gain wall diving experience along the diving routes opening into the sea from Gökçetepe's rugged coastline. The region's cold and nutrient-rich waters provide the opportunity to encounter intense marine life on every dive, making Gökçetepe valuable for both training and photography-focused diving programs.

Gökçetepe's Steep Walls and Underwater Vitality

Off the coast of Gökçetepe, the seabed continues with rocky walls that deepen rapidly from the shore; this structure allows for wall dives, which are favored by advanced divers. When the cold water unique to Saros combines with high visibility, it becomes possible to clearly observe the gorgonian and sponge communities on the walls and the schools of fish swimming among them. For beginners, shallower and more sheltered areas just in front of the walls are reserved for practice dives. The rugged structure of the coastline makes boat departures to diving spots close and practical.

What Awaits You at the Camp?

Accommodation, daily meals, theoretical and practical training accompanied by a PADI or CMAS instructor, and the use of tanks and basic equipment are included in the camp. The program begins with practice dives in shallow areas, and in the following days, the depth is gradually increased at wall spots reached by boat. Participants who wish can take a valid certification exam at the end of the camp. During rest periods between dives, theoretical lessons and short briefings on equipment maintenance are provided.

Who Can Participate and How Is Safety Ensured?

The camp is open to anyone who knows how to swim and has no health obstacles to diving; depth and duration limits for wall dives are determined by instructors according to the participant's level. The use of appropriate wetsuits is recommended due to the cold water, current and weather conditions are evaluated before every dive, and the use of dive computers and limited group sizes ensure safety.
