Located at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas in Muğla, Datça is a frequent destination for diving enthusiasts with its mysterious coves. This 5-6 day residential scuba diving camp offers a progressive program for both those who want to try diving and divers looking to improve their certification in the untouched coves of the Datça peninsula. Its location, opening to both the northern and southern coasts of the peninsula, allows for the selection of the most suitable cove based on wind and wave conditions, ensuring a pleasant diving experience every day; thus, accommodation, meals, and training are combined into a single program.
Datça attracts attention with its rocky headlands, underwater cave and tunnel formations, and clear turquoise waters. Colorful schools of fish can be observed in shallow rocky areas, while sponge and gorgonian communities stretching along rocky drop-offs can be seen in the depths. Due to the mixing effect of the Aegean and Mediterranean waters, the region offers visibility that varies by season but generally remains at a high level, creating a favorable environment for both photography and exploration dives. Thanks to the seabed structure that changes from cove to cove, sandy, rocky, and cave-mouth spots can be experienced together within the same camp duration.
Accommodation, daily meals, theoretical and practical training accompanied by a PADI or CMAS instructor, and tank-equipment usage are included in the camp scope. The program starts with practice dives in shallow coves and progresses to open sea dives in remote coves reached by boat in the following days. While trial dive participants receive basic skills training, those who wish can take a valid certification exam at the end of the camp. Short theoretical lessons and briefings on equipment maintenance are also included in the program later in the day.
Anyone who can swim and has no health obstacles to diving can participate in the camp; no prior diving experience is required. Equipment checks and safety briefings are conducted before every dive, and the choice of cove is determined by instructors based on the day's sea conditions. The use of dive computers, limited group sizes, and surface support teams keep safety at a high level throughout the camp.
