Course Content

Training begins with the planning and time management of multi-pitch climbing. Participants focus on building anchors, stacking and organizing rope, self-belay principles and communication between pitches. Skills in placing your own protection are carried onto long routes; protection strategy and management of rope friction are studied on each pitch. When needed, rappel and safe retreat techniques from a multi-pitch route are also demonstrated. Routes lengthen gradually.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course you will know how to plan a multi-pitch route from start to finish, transition safely with your partner at the station and manage the rope efficiently over long routes. Building solid anchors, load distribution, avoiding time loss during pitch changes and moving in balance on granite are covered hands-on. Multi-rappel sequences, emergency scenarios and decision-making on the route are also within scope. Equipment and Safety

The technical gear required for multi-pitch climbing is provided; the protection set, double rope systems, anchor materials, rappel devices, helmet and harnesses consist of certified products. Because safety on long routes depends on the soundness of anchors and correct transition procedures, every station is inspected by the instructor. Throughout the course, redundant systems and habits that reduce the margin of error are emphasized. Participant numbers are kept limited to ensure close supervision; psychological resilience at height and team communication are also treated as part of the safety culture.

Who Can Join?

This near-professional advanced course is for participants with a traditional climbing foundation who can place their own protection and are experienced in building anchors. It is aimed at climbers comfortable on single-pitch trad routes who want to step into the multi-pitch world. It is not suitable for beginner or intermediate levels; competence in belaying, placing protection and rappelling is a prerequisite. Participants' experience is assessed in detail during registration and groups are formed accordingly.
