What is this training?
Famous for its stone houses overlooking the Mesopotamian plain, Mardin has the hot, arid climate of Southeastern Anatolia, with scorching summers. In this sweltering heat, knowing how to swim is a great advantage for cooling off and living a healthy life. This Beginner Swimming Course is a structured program delivered by certified instructors in indoor, air-conditioned pools for children and adults starting from scratch. In our modern facilities in Artuklu and Kızıltepe, you can learn to swim safely in every season of the year. This course is not a one-off experience; it is a multi-week journey that builds a real skill by overcoming the fear of water step by step. On hot days, the pool is the most enjoyable way both to cool off and to gain a new skill.
What You Will Learn in This Course
Our program is designed entirely for people who cannot swim at all. The first lessons focus on getting comfortable in the water and overcoming the fear of water. Then proper breathing technique, staying balanced in the water, and floating on the surface are taught. You gradually work on freestyle and breaststroke, along with kick and arm technique. We build a lasting foundation by reinforcing each movement patiently and with repetition. In Mardin's traditional setting and hot climate, many people never had the chance to learn to swim before; in this program you can progress safely no matter your age.
The Week-by-Week Program
The first week covers water confidence and breath control; the second week floating and gliding; the third and fourth weeks kicking and freestyle arms; the following weeks address breaststroke technique and breathing coordination. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, and your instructor closely tracks your progress. Even during Mardin's scorching summers, we offer a comfortable training environment in our cool pools.
Water Safety and Breathing Technique
The most critical part of learning to swim is safety. In our lessons we teach staying calm during panic, the back-float resting position, and safe entry and exit techniques. A correct rhythm of breathing in and out is the foundation of swimming without tiring, which is why we give special importance to breathing exercises. We turn exhaling underwater and inhaling on time at the surface into a habit. When you head to a reservoir, a pool, or the seaside on summer holiday, this safety knowledge can be lifesaving.
Who It Is For
