Kartalkaya Snowboard Course (Beginner)

This snowboarding training course at the Kartalkaya ski resort is designed for those who want to learn snowboarding from scratch with correct technique. Beyond a single session, it aims to take you to a level where you can ski safely on your own on beginner and intermediate slopes.

About the resort

Set among the snow-covered forests of Bolu, Kartalkaya is a long-established ski resort known for its heavy snowfall and slopes of varying difficulty.

What is Snowboard?

Snowboarding is the sport of gliding on snow-covered slopes on a single board with both feet fixed to it. It offers a feel similar to skateboarding and surfing and relies on balance and core control. Though a little challenging on the first day, it soon becomes great fun.

Program and curriculum

The program progresses gradually: the first lessons teach strapping into the board, balance, heel and toe edge control and safe falling. The following lessons work gliding, basic turns and using the ski lift. In the advanced stage, linked turns and control on steeper slopes are the goal.

What do you gain?

By the end of the course you reach a level where you can prepare your own equipment, ski safely on beginner and intermediate slopes, make your turns in a controlled way and comfortably use the lifts.

Who can join?

The course is open to every level: those with no experience start on a solid foundation, while those who have tried before advance their techniques. A good level of fitness is recommended. Young people and adults progress within their own group.

Instructor

The lessons are held in small groups with a certified instructor, so that each participant gets enough attention and slope time. The instructor adapts the movements to your level and follows your progress lesson by lesson.

Equipment

All equipment is provided: the snowboard (board and bindings), snowboard boots and a helmet. The equipment is chosen to your height, foot size and level; soft, forgiving boards are used for beginners.

What to bring?

We recommend bringing a waterproof ski jacket and trousers, thermal base layers, waterproof gloves, a beanie, a neck warmer, snow/sun goggles and sunscreen. The ski/snowboard equipment and helmet are provided by us; dress in layers to keep warm and dry.

Important: transport is not included

This is a training program; transport (service) is not included in the package. You reach the ski resort by your own means. For the option with a service, you can choose the “Tour” version of the same resort.

Best time and season

The ski season generally runs from December to the end of March; January and February, when the snow is deepest, are the most rewarding period. Weekdays are when the slopes are calmer and more comfortable, while weekends are the busiest. The exact date and time are set according to the resort’s snow depth and weather that day and shared with you clearly after the reservation.

What is included?

The package includes multi-session snowboarding training with a certified instructor, use of all equipment, a lift pass, a level-appropriate program and a certificate of attendance. Transport is not included.
