What is this training?
Çıtdıbı, in Antalya's Konyaaltı region, is a true benchmark for advanced sport climbers, known for its steeply overhanging and negative limestone walls. This advanced climbing course is designed for climbers who have already acquired the fundamentals, can lead climb, and now want to move up a level in strength, endurance, and negative-wall technique. Under the guidance of a certified instructor, you will work through a systematic curriculum covering movement economy on overhanging and inverted profiles, strength-endurance development, and redpoint tactics, that is, sending a route cleanly. The aggressive angle of Çıtdıbı is a real laboratory for core tension and dynamic movement; every session you spend here markedly advances your preparation for demanding routes.
Course Content
The course begins with an advanced assessment; the instructor observes your current technical level, your lead-climbing confidence, and your belaying skill. The curriculum then focuses on overhang technique. Advanced footwork such as foot fixing, drop-knee, heel hook, and toe hook; maintaining core tension; and the timing of dynamic moves are studied in detail. Rope management, advanced belaying, and soft-catch techniques for lead falls are reinforced. The redpoint process is systematically addressed through route reading, breaking moves into sections, identifying rest points, and building an attempt strategy. Safety procedures are repeated every session.
What You Will Learn
In this course you will learn to stay on your feet on a negative wall and to avoid burning power by using your arms rationally. Movement economy, the skill of finding the most efficient movement with the least energy, is the heart of advanced climbing. You will work on generating explosive power on crux moves, recovering in rest positions, and managing rhythm and strategic breathing against the pump. You will reach a higher level in route reading, memorizing sequences and planning critical moves in advance. With redpoint tactics, you will gain the discipline of sending a project cleanly over time by breaking it into attempts. Mental endurance, managing the fear of falling, and staying calm under pressure are also integral parts of this advanced curriculum.
Equipment and Safety
Advanced technical equipment is included in the course; the harness, helmet, dynamic rope, quickdraw set, and belay devices are provided by the instructor and checked meticulously. Because falls in overhang climbing can be longer and more dynamic, safety procedures are even more critical. Correct belay distance, soft-catch technique, swing management, and keeping the fall line clean are constantly emphasized. Partner checks, command confirmation, and lead-climbing safety are repeated before every climb. The instructor conveys the subtleties of managing risk on a negative wall in a hands-on way.
Who Can Join?
This advanced course is suitable for participants who have acquired basic climbing skills, can belay safely, and are familiar with lead climbing. It targets climbers who are comfortable on vertical routes but struggle on steep, inverted rock, and who want to take their strength and endurance to the next level. It is not a full beginner course; a certain amount of experience and a physical base are expected. The instructor provides personalized feedback according to your level.
