Antalya Water Polo Course

Given in a standard swimming pool in Antalya, this water polo course is designed for those who want to learn this enjoyable team sport from scratch. With a certified instructor, you start from basic swimming and ball techniques and progress step by step toward becoming a real water polo player.

What is water polo?

Water polo is a dynamic sport played by two teams in the water in a pool, combining swimming, ball control and team tactics. Without their feet touching the bottom, players stay constantly at the surface as they dribble, pass and try to score in the opponent’s goal. It is an enjoyable and instructive team sport that requires both endurance and strategy.

Program and curriculum

The program progresses gradually: the first lessons work water-polo-specific swimming techniques, treading water (the eggbeater) and basic ball control. The following lessons teach passing, dribbling and shooting at the goal. In the advanced stage, positional play, defensive and offensive tactics and real match scenarios are practiced.

The lessons are held in small groups with an experienced, certified instructor. The instructor gives feedback based on each athlete’s level, corrects techniques one by one and constantly watches safety. Thanks to the small groups, everyone gets enough attention and pool time.

Pool and equipment

The course takes place in a standard swimming pool. The ball, caps and goals are provided by the facility; you only need to bring a swimsuit, a towel and swimming goggles. The equipment and pool setup are arranged to suit every level.
