What is this training?
Taking your freediving course in the clearest waters of the Marmara turns learning into pure pleasure. The Adalar freediving course is designed to develop your techniques in an open-water setting within the sheltered coves of the Princes' Islands, guided by a certified instructor.
Why freedive in Adalar?
The Princes' Islands offer a privileged training environment with clear visibility and calm coves free of motor traffic. The sheltered coves around Heybeliada and Büyükada let you learn open-water techniques in real sea conditions but within a safe frame. Clear water strengthens depth perception and visual references, a great advantage when learning duck dives and descents.
What you will learn
Training progresses gradually on the boat and in the cove. You start with diaphragmatic breathing and relaxation, reinforce equalization using the visual references clear water provides, and learn the correct duck dive, efficient finning and an energy-saving descent-ascent rhythm. You practise static and dynamic apnea basics and experience firsthand how critical the buddy system is in open water.
Who is it for?
This course suits swimmers aged 15 and over wanting a systematic start in open-water freediving. Whether from scratch or moving pool experience to the sea, the instructor develops you at your pace. Tell us in advance about seasickness.
