Kemer Freediving Experience
About the experience
Where the Taurus Mountains dive straight into the sea, pine-scented Kemer is one of the Mediterranean's most appealing freediving stops. This single session introduces you to the deep silence beneath the surface. Requiring no diving background, the experience lets you take your first breath-hold dives safely alongside a guide, in clear coves beneath the shadow of the mountains.
Why freedive in Kemer?
Kemer sits in a striking landscape where the Taurus range meets the Mediterranean. This steep geology creates interesting underwater topography and cool, clear water even near shore. Coves ringed by pine forest offer sheltered, calm conditions ideal for a first experience. Established dive centers here welcome freedivers, and rock formations, small cave mouths and light-filled coves turn your session into a visual treat.
What to expect
Your session begins on land with a breathing and safety briefing on relaxation and diaphragmatic breathing. After fitting your mask, fins and wetsuit, you descend into a sheltered cove and befriend the water at the surface. With your guide beside you, you make your first short dives, learning to equalize and enjoy the calm. Watching light filter through the rocks, you discover the weightless peace of hanging below the surface at your own pace.
Who is it for?
This experience suits anyone who has never freedived and wants a deeper bond with the sea. Adults who can swim and are in good health can join. No prior experience or certification is needed, only curiosity.
