Best season and hours

Spring and autumn are the most pleasant periods for tennis; the April-June and September-October months are clear and mild. Although the imbat wind provides coolness in summer, scheduling the experience in the morning or late afternoon is more comfortable. Even in winter, play is possible on sunny days; Izmir's mild climate allows open-air tennis for most of the year. In the late afternoon, playing alongside the gulf view in the air that cools toward sunset is a distinct pleasure.

What will happen during the experience?

Our guide welcomes you with the sincere cheer unique to Izmir and starts with a light warm-up. Then, without feeling any pressure, you experience the basic movements, from holding the racket correctly to clean contact with the ball. Forehand, backhand and simple serve attempts unfold in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere. Our guide is by your side at every step, gives small tips but never pushes. Hitting the ball alongside the gulf breeze and the Izmir sun turns sport into pleasure. Water breaks are taken and conversation flows; afterward you can take a walk on the Kordon and enjoy the gulf.

This experience is open to everyone, from beginners who have never played tennis to intermediate players. No special fitness or prior experience is required; comfortable clothing and a cheerful mood are enough.

What to bring

Izmir's sun is bright in the Aegean way; do not forget a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Although the imbat wind from the gulf is cooling, choose breathable, light-colored sportswear. Good sports shoes are important. Do not neglect drinking plenty of water. Rackets and balls are provided by us, but you may bring your own racket if you have one. The experience lasts on average one and a half to two hours, and the group is kept small so everyone can hit enough balls.
