What does this tour offer?

Located at the foothills of Akdağ in the Fethiye district of Muğla, Saklıkent Canyon is one of the longest and deepest canyons in Turkey, stretching approximately 18 kilometers. The icy waters flowing between steep and high rocky walls create a cool microclimate where the sun barely reaches; narrow passages, natural pools, and small waterfalls greet participants throughout the canyon. This natural structure makes canyoning both visually impressive and physically satisfying. In some parts of the canyon, the walls draw so close to each other that the sky appears as a thin strip.

What's Included

The tour includes transfer from the meeting point to the canyon entrance, full safety equipment including wetsuits, helmets, and life jackets, ropes and safety systems used for technical crossings, and a detailed safety briefing accompanied by a certified guide. Depending on the difficulty of the course, you will progress by swimming in some sections and walking among the rocks in others; a hot meal and a rest break are usually provided at the end of the tour. Guides continuously monitor the water level throughout the canyon and adjust the route according to the day's conditions when necessary.

Safety and Suitability

Due to the cold waters and narrow passages of Saklıkent, participants must have basic swimming skills and strictly follow the guide's instructions; moderate physical fitness is recommended as some parts of the canyon require physical endurance. It is generally suitable for participants aged 12 and over, and those with health issues are requested to provide information in advance.

Season

Although the canyon waters, fed by melting snow and underground springs, remain cold throughout the year, the most suitable period for visiting is between May and October, when air temperatures rise. For those seeking an escape from the Mediterranean heat in the summer months, Saklıkent's cool and shaded atmosphere offers a unique opportunity for refreshment; in early spring, high water levels can make some parts of the course more challenging.
