A 6-day trekking camp is held in the untouched canyons, caves, and lush forests of the Küre Mountains National Park within the borders of Kastamonu. In this biosphere reserve area created by the Black Sea climate, the route is enriched with trails passing through Black Pine and beech forests, deep valleys, and waterfalls. The program is designed for participants with a moderate fitness level, consisting of daily stages of 10-15 kilometers on forested and damp terrain. Taking place in one of Turkey's rainiest regions with the densest forest cover, this camp is designed for those seeking a quiet nature experience away from the crowds.
The camp begins with forest trails around Pınarbaşı; the second and third days progress along the steep slopes of Valla Canyon and the valley of Ilıca Canyon, filled with the sound of water. The fourth day features a stage where cave entrances and limestone formations can be seen towards Şenpazar, while the last two days complete the camp with a quieter route following old village roads within the national park boundaries. Due to the humid and variable Black Sea weather, the stages are kept flexible. The wooden bridges and stream beds crossed along the route provide an opportunity to observe the different layers of the forest up close.
The package includes guided hiking, a daily stage plan, accommodation (guesthouse/camp), specified meals, and transfers between stages. The recommended equipment list highlights waterproof jackets, trekking shoes, spare socks, and moisture-wicking layered clothing; carrying a raincoat is advised due to the region's frequent rainfall. Since the humidity inside the forest is high, quick-drying fabrics should be preferred.
The route is suitable for hikers with moderate fitness; there are narrow and slippery sections along the canyon edges that require caution, and progress in these sections is made cautiously under the guidance of a guide. Regular water and rest breaks are planned, and the program may be updated according to the weather. The untouched forest texture, deep canyons, and caves of the Küre Mountains turn the camp into a calm but impressive nature experience. It is important for participants to be prepared for multi-day and humid terrain conditions for a comfortable camp experience.
