Located among the most exclusive bays of the Aegean, adorned with islands and islets, Ayvalık offers an ideal camping route for both beginners and advanced divers with its calm waters. The natural labyrinth formed by Cunda and the surrounding islets provides the opportunity to explore a different route every day during this 5-6 day scuba diving camp. The characteristic gentle waves of the Aegean and moderate visibility create a reassuring environment, especially for those trying diving for the first time.
The areas around the islets off the coast of Ayvalık are notable for their rocky drop-offs, sponge-covered walls, and occasional amphora remains. The balance of salinity and temperature in the water supports a rich flora and fish diversity unique to the Aegean; schools of barracuda, octopuses, and starfish are among the frequently encountered marine life. While the water surface temperature in the summer months increases diving comfort, the changing seabed structure during transitions between islands makes every dive unique.
Accommodation, daily meals, theoretical and practical training accompanied by PADI or CMAS instructors, and the use of basic equipment including tanks and regulators are included in the camp. The program begins with practice dives in shallow waters and progresses to open-sea dives between islands by boat in the following days. While non-certified participants experience the underwater world with trial dives, those who wish can take an exam at the end of the camp to obtain a valid diving certificate.
This camp is open to anyone who has no prior diving experience but wants to try it, as well as to divers who want to advance their certification. It is sufficient for participants to know how to swim and have no health conditions that would prevent them from diving. Equipment checks and safety briefings are conducted before every dive, group sizes per instructor are kept limited, and dive computers and surface support are provided on every boat trip.
