Sakarya Tennis Experience
About the experience
In Sakarya, famed for its green plains, the mirror of Lake Sapanca and its waterfalls, tennis turns into a delightful open-air experience in this city that embraces nature's bounty, close to Istanbul yet keeping its own peace. Swinging your racket amid Sapanca's cool breeze or the freshness of the Adapazari plain, you enjoy the pleasure of sport in the midst of nature. This is not a course; it is a relaxed, social tennis gathering about feeling good. Our aim is not to prepare you for a race, but to help you spend a pleasant few hours in the green.
Why play tennis in Sakarya?
Sakarya is a lush green city in the east of Marmara, surrounded by lakes, forests and fertile plains. While its center, Adapazari, sits on a flat, spacious plain, the nearby Lake Sapanca and its surroundings are a natural-wonder escape. Its climate is mild and rainy; it stays green in every season. So the most pleasant times for outdoor tennis are the clear days of spring, summer and autumn. Sports facilities in central Adapazari and around Serdivan give your game room with their spacious courts. On courts near Sapanca, the lake and forest air accompanies you.
The court and the atmosphere
Sakarya's blend of both city and nature amenities makes tennis especially enjoyable here. The courts are usually in spacious areas surrounded by greenery. At facilities near Sapanca, the clean air from the lake and forest accompanies you. The atmosphere is calm and friendly; no one keeps score, everyone is at their own ease. Resting while looking at the green during breaks brings a peace of its own.
What awaits you in the experience?
A friendly companion welcomes you on court. You first prepare your body with a light warm-up, then get acquainted with the racket and discover at a relaxed pace how to approach the ball. With gently fed balls you make your first strokes over the net and naturally feel the flow of the forehand and the rhythm of the backhand. As you feel ready, we move on to short rallies, net play and simple serve attempts. Our aim is not to prepare you for a race but to let you enjoy that pleasant moment when the ball meets the racket. No competition, no pressure; just movement, laughter and a good day in nature.
Who can you share the experience with?
Someone who has never played and someone wishing to start again after a long break can both join comfortably. For students of Sakarya University it can be a break between classes, for workers a way to shed the week's stress, and for families a chance to move together in nature. You can come with a friend, your partner or on your own. Everyone up to intermediate level feels at ease here; no flawless serve is expected.
Best season and hours
The most pleasant times for tennis are the clear days of spring, summer and autumn; in summer, morning or late afternoon hours are ideal. Because Sakarya's climate can be rainy, the schedule may be flexible depending on the weather. In autumn, the riot of color in nature adds a special beauty while you play.
What should you bring?
Comfortable sportswear and flat-soled sports shoes are enough; rackets and balls are provided. Because of Sakarya's rainy climate, keeping a light raincoat with you is wise. Ending the day with a tea break by Lake Sapanca or a walk around the lake is the most Sakarya way to finish. Fill your water bottle and leave the rest to us; just enjoy tennis among the lakes and forests.
